Pillar Jib Crane (Column-mounted Slewing Jib Crane)

The pillar jib crane (also referred to as column-mounted slewing jib crane) is a light-duty hoisting device. Its base pillar is firmly anchored into the concrete foundation. Boasting ingenious structural design, flexible slewing performance and ample working coverage, this crane is perfectly suited for short-distance, high-frequency and intensive hoisting tasks.

1. Main Components: The complete machine is primarily composed of the vertical column assembly, slewing assembly, jib assembly and hoisting mechanism (equipped with electric chain hoist as standard).

2. Column and Base: The bottom section of the column is fastened to the concrete foundation by anchor bolts to deliver stable bearing support for the whole crane.

3. Jib Arm and Main Beam: Fabricated with hollow steel structures, these parts realize light dead weight, large effective outreach, cost efficiency and long service life.

4. Slewing Mechanism: The jib is rotated by a cycloidal pinwheel planetary reducer. Two options are available: manual slewing and electric slewing.

5. Hoisting Mechanism: The electric hoist travels along the tracks fitted on the jib, undertaking vertical lifting of workpieces and horizontal linear traversing of loads.

Product Application

1. Production & Assembly Lines:

Used for workpiece loading and unloading on factory and mining production lines, assembly lines, as well as various machine tools.

2. Warehousing & Docks:

Suitable for short-distance heavy-load hoisting and cargo handling inside warehouses, docks and other similar venues.

3. Heavy Industry Manufacturing:

Extensively applied for material transportation and handling across machinery, metallurgy, power, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, iron and steel and other heavy industries.

Product Operation Guide

1. Standardized Operation Requirement:

Overloading and diagonal hoisting are strictly forbidden. A jogging test lift shall be carried out prior to hoisting heavy workpieces. No personnel are allowed to stand under suspended loads at any time.

2. Daily Pre-operation Inspection:

Conduct daily checks to verify the sensitivity and reliability of start buttons and limit switches, and ensure all electrical and mechanical components are intact, functional and safe for operation.

3. Periodic Maintenance:

Clear debris on running tracks regularly; inspect wire ropes or lifting chains for broken strands and abrasion. Apply lubricant to slewing bearings and travelling tracks on a weekly basis, and retighten the column anchor bolts every month.

4. Troubleshooting for Abnormal Conditions:

Once abnormal noise, insufficient hoisting capacity or violent vibration occurs, trigger the emergency stop button immediately. It is strictly prohibited to run the crane with existing faults or arbitrarily alter operating procedures without official approval.

FAQ

Q1: Why does the jib crane judder and suffer excessive rotational resistance during slewing and running?

Answer: The fault mainly stems from dust and debris buildup inside the track, insufficient lubrication of the slewing mechanism, or loose connecting bolts. It is mandatory to shut down the equipment right away, clear all foreign matter from the track, inspect and retighten all bolts, and top up lubricating grease for the slewing mechanism.

Q2: What measures shall be taken when abnormal vibration and irregular noise occur from the electric hoist during hoisting work?

Answer: Such anomalies are generally triggered by reducer gear abrasion, damaged bearings or inadequate chain lubrication. Cut off the power supply immediately to inspect the lubrication status of all transmission parts, and replenish lubricant as required. If internal mechanical parts are damaged, arrange professional technicians to carry out disassembly and maintenance. Running the equipment with faults is strictly forbidden.

Q3: How to reduce severe shaking when hoisting heavy goods?

Answer: Shaking results from diagonal lifting and sudden pulling causing inertial swing. Keep loads vertical all the time; use jog control to tighten the chain before lifting; rotate the jib smoothly without frequent starts and stops.

Q4: The load slips down automatically with safety risks, how to solve this?

Answer: This happens due to worn brake pads or loose brake springs. Stop work immediately, inspect brake wear and adjust spring tension. Replace worn brake parts once they are due for scrapping.

Q5: The anchor bolts of the pillar jib crane become loose after installation, how to handle it?

Answer: Long-term load pressure or foundation sinking will loosen anchor bolts. Unload all goods and stop using the crane. Check the foundation bearing capacity, reinforce or remake the foundation if necessary, then tighten bolts with a torque wrench according to standard torque values. Forced operation is prohibited.
